Developmental Baby Massage

Just Baby Massage? No, this is more…

I remember those first few weeks as a new mum, you’ve got your beautiful new baby, but everyone else is at work and you’re feeling a little lost.

You want to be the best mum possible, but you just don’t know how to support their development when they’re this dinky, you’re feeling a little anxious and wanting to do everything perfectly.

Do you want to meet a set of like minded mamas, all with babies roughly the same age?

A tribe to chat to about your worries and concerns, as well as your triumphs?

You're all new parents learning how massage can support your baby’s development, and how it can be used as a tool to a way to calm and soothe an unsettled baby – think colic, teething, constipation and much more.

This benefits both you and your baby in so many ways!!

My unique 6 week Developmental Baby Massage course teaches you everything that you need to know to feel confident as you and your baby are getting to know each other on this new journey together.

You’ll be learning:

- Baby massage techniques that will aid your baby’s development.

- How to support them as they adapt to being in the big wide world.

- Different position for play - ensuring that we are getting those connections made in their brains, building a firm foundation for their future.

By having a block of classes, it will ensure each class is with the same set of friendly, local mamas, who you cam make friends with and chat in your secure WhatsApp group, between classes.

Do you want to learn how to connect with your baby, whilst building strong foundations for them as they grow and develop?

Do you want to learn how to settle your colicky, uncomfortable baby?

Are you looking for a relaxed, supporting group for both you and your baby?

"What I really loved about the class was that it was so relaxing and calming. It’s nice to have a class that encourages parent communication, so we can support one another… especially one that offers a cuppa We look forward to the next sessions."

Let's Talk Development...

It’s common knowledge that baby massage can have a huge impact on your baby when it comes to easing the symptoms of colic, constipation and teething. But did you know that it also helps to build their brains?

Touch is the first sensory system that develops in the womb and it has been proven that nurturing touch helps your baby build their brain, making and strengthening the many connections and pathways in there. Combining this with the different positions for play, will give you and your baby the strongest start in this journey!!

I trained to be a Baby Massage and Yoga Instructor when I was pregnant with my youngest baby and I realized that there wasn’t many options locally for new mums to learn this amazing skill.

FAQs

How is this different to another baby massage course?
I have combined my knowledge of baby massage and yoga with developmental play gym, this is unique to me and you won’t find it anywhere else. We will not only complete a full baby massage routine, we will introduce your baby to some different positions for play and discuss the importance of a varied play diet.

What if my baby cries during the session?
To be honest, I’ll be surprised if they don’t cry at some point! Crying is your baby’s main way of communicating - all babies cry! One of the first things I say at each session is that our classes are all baby led, so if they need feedings, changing, a nap or a cuddle, that's ok, we go with the flow.

Do I have to use the oil?

No, you can do all of the massage strokes over your baby's clothes. However, if you do choose to use the oil, you can rest assured that I've done extensive research and settled on 'Tiddley Pom Baby organic cold pressed sunflower oil' as it is the most natural form of oil for their skin. It is also food grade oil, meaning that if they happen to get some of it in their mouths, then it won't hurt them. It's also vegan, fair traded and cruelty free. For more information, you can check out their website here.

What about those of you are anxious?

I’ll hold my hands up to this one, I’ve been sitting outside a baby group in the car in tears because my anxiety took over and I couldn’t face going in. I absolutely know how you feel and my inbox is always open, there’s even a box on my booking form for you to share any worries! I’m happy to meet you at the door, let you come 5 minutes early and any other way of helping you get in the door… it’s all about that first step, the rest are much easier!!

Still unsure?

If you're still unsure whether this is the course for you, please get in touch. I am more than happy to discuss the different classes I offer and we can have a chat about how to most effectively meet your baby's needs.
